Red & White Cherry Lime Spritzers

Red & White Cherry Lime Spritzers
[Jump to Recipe]

This is another drink I created in the colors of our football team when they were in the Super Bowl last year, 2020, for our gathering…yes, they won! Yes, they are the Kansas City Chiefs!

As some of the other drinks I made that day, these too are non-alcoholic…hey, there were 3 grandkids and a teenager…so perfect for them! It’s a refreshing drink and is similar to a Shirley Temple drink, one difference is I just use the Maraschino cherry juice in the drink, instead of grenadine syrup…and I make pretty ice cubes for it 🙂 .

You will need:

  • Jar of Maraschino cherries and juice
  • 2 limes, quartered length wise and then sliced into quarter inch slices
  • 1 two liter bottle of lemon-lime pop, or cherry lemon-lime (refrigerated)
  • 2 trays of cherry and lime ice cubes (made with some of the above ingredients)
  • Pretty small glasses
  1. Make ice cubes the night before by adding one Maraschino cherry or lime slice into the cell of each ice cube tray.
  2. Slowly pour some lemon-lime pop in each of the cells to cover.
  3. Freeze until fully frozen then pop them out and store in a plastic storage bag in the freezer until you are ready to use.
  4. Add rest of cold lemon-lime pop and about 3/4 cup of Maraschino cherry juice to a beverage dispenser and stir until incorporated.
  5. Add in the ice cubes, stir and serve in cute glasses, top with a cherry and a straw that matches the color theme of your party.
