Mom's Baked Beans

These beans are simple and tasty. Pair them with some grilled meats and a salad for a full meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 large cans of pork and beans 28 oz each, drained of most liquid (see Notes)
  • 4 slices of bacon cooked half way and chopped in big pieces
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add the drained baked beans, onion, brown sugar and ketchup. Mix well.
  • Add in 1/2 the bacon and mix again.
  • Pour into a baking dish and top with the rest of the bacon.
  • Cover and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until bubbly and thick.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes before eating.

Notes

If you like your beans thicker then drain 3/4ths of the liquid. If you like them a little more saucy then drain half of the liquid.
